Why not a Brazilian Butt Lift in Orange County? After all, the OC is no longer the sleepy mega-suburb of the past. Along with world class boutiques, restaurants, and resorts, it’s a thriving metropolis in its own right, and that includes being a leader in plastic surgery. Board certified plastic surgeon Michael A. Jazayeri, M.D. has been bringing the procedure widely identified with Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo to his Newport Beach plastic surgery office with outstanding results for patients from throughout Southern California.
How is a Brazilian Butt Lift Different from Other Types of Buttock Augmentation?
Not so long ago, women who wanted plumper and more curvaceous backsides typically received silicone implants similar to those long used in many breast augmentation procedures. Over the years, however, two things happened. First, beauty standards evolved and a more voluptuous look has become the fashion. Second, a procedure relying on unwanted fat taken from elsewhere in the body to augment the buttocks has shown itself to be the more reliable choice that produces the best results.
How does a Brazilian Butt Lift Work?
It starts with liposuction to remove unwanted fat from other parts of the body. The fat is then purified to make it safe to reintroduce. It is then reinjected into strategic portions of the back side, allowing Dr. Jazayeri to sculpt a derriere that is natural in both its appearance and feeling, as well as extremely attractive.
What are the Benefits of a Brazilian Butt Lift Over Implants?
Plastic surgery experts tell us that the transferred fat technique produces results that, not surprisingly, look and feel more natural than synthetic implants. It’s also been very well established that the technique reduces the chances of infection compared to other forms of augmentation. Dr. Jazayeri also notes the procedure gives him more freedom to sculpt a backside that is completely customized to flatter the patient in every way possible.
What Should Patients Expect During and After a Procedure?
Dr. Jazayeri is able to provide fat transfer based plastic surgery using only a local anesthetic. This allows the doctor to perform treatments in the relaxing and pleasant environment of his own office, instead of requiring a surgery center. It also limits the post-operative recovery time in the office before the patient can return home and prevents possible unpleasant side effects that can be related to a general anesthetic, such as nausea and confusion.
Once the surgery is completed and the patient is back at home, a recovery period follows that includes 1-2 weeks of downtime without work or other physical activities. Also, given the location of the procedure, patients should refrain from directly sitting on the buttocks. Patients will experience some swelling, bruising, and soreness, which typically can be handled with the help of over-the-counter NSAID medications such as Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Narcotics are rarely used.
While the patient will be able to resume most of her regular activities after a couple of weeks, overall healing takes somewhat longer. Most of the swelling and bruising should be gone within about a month, but the full results of the procedure may take as long as six months to emerge.
